You are also eligible for a 5-Year Resident License, No Cost Residents License, and Annual Resident License if you have a freshwater fishing license or any other license that covers freshwater fishing.
These licenses grant resident fishing privileges to harvest saltwater species such as clams, crabs, saltwater fish, and other saltwater organisms. You do not need a license to access non-living seashells. Lionfish are also exempt from this License only when used with specific gear.
The Persons With Disabilities Fishing License for Residents
People with disabilities get a no-cost license, which lasts between 2 and 5 years. The length will depend on your disability. They cover freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, and hunting and the following permits, archery, Wildlife Management Area, turkey, deer, crossbow, lobster, Florida Waterfowl, snook, and Muzzleloading gun.
This License has a few exemptions:
- Antlerless Deer permit Federal migratory bird or duck stamp permit.
- You must have a tarpon tag to possess a tarpon.
- Statewide Alligator hunt participation,
- Limited Entry Quota Hunts without exemptions.

Private Pond Fishing Licenses in Florida
A private pond is one that does not have any connection to public waters via the water surface. The License is charged on private ponds that have more than 20 acres in surface cover. This License costs $3 per surface acre. You do not need the License if the pond measures less than 20 acres. If you fish in your spouse’s pond, your parent’s, or child’s pond, you do not need the License.
You may need documents like your relevant ID and social security number when applying for a fishing license in Florida. The licenses are available for purchase online, via call (888-347-4356), tax collector’s office or license agents.
It would be best if you also looked out for license-free days which are:
